Beach Wear

April 28th, 2009 admin Fashion Thinking 0

Beach wearOn my previous article I mentioned abut the summer trends. Then a thought came into my mind that, wearing cool trends around the streets, party or to at the office is solved, but what about the beach? Summer is all about beach, and it is hard to keep the cloths on, especially when you are swimming, grabbing surfboard and off to the cool beach. Although you will be wearing small amount of clothes but the people around you will notice smallest details of your band. So it is always appropriate to look your best.

The most common and most favorite style of the beach wear is the swim trunks. Although, there is nothing “ordinary” about the latest style. The latest trunk you will find will be bit slimmer and shorter then the before. Go for the Hawaiian prints, ethnic touch and retro. Instead of basic black, go for something wild and flashy. Because this season is all about prints and colors. Speedos and shrinking shorts were highly noticed on the catwalks for this summer. And the cargo pockets seem to be making waves as well, turning the classic swim trunks into a style icon all their own. Furthermore, you could even wear your swim shorts as regular shorts, paired with a nice t-shirt.

The sleeveless t-shirts are very popular to in men’s beach wear, flitted with anything from retro logo to any types of eye catching designs. Lots of these shirts are vintage in nature, which pretty cool for beach wear. You will be definitely in the spotlight with the newest tees. Also try out the casual colored shirts which are light, breezy fabrics. With these shirts, you won’t have to worry about staying cool.

Wearing heavy sneakers can be a problem on the beach, so sandals are the best choice. But not any sandals will do. The newest styles are easily portable and won’t put a dent in your wallet. Don’t go for the suede and leather, instead stick with rubber and plastic flip flops or thong sandals. These types of sandals are perfect beach wear accessory, and with a wide range of colors and styles you are guaranteed to find one to fit your own unique personality.

Now we shouldn’t forget the sunglasses. Checkout aviator, rimless and oversized shades and these are the fashion of this season. Depending on your look, pick a shade that suits you.

Men’s wardrobes must contain two types of suites, a polo shirt, a white shirt, a pair of proper brogues, and an overcoat or trench. Nevertheless, these clothes need to be updated with a few on-trend pieces, and the addition of up-to-the-minute accessories.

Now, let’s cut off the talks and find out what is available for us in this summer,

The color of summer
Normally, men’s fashion is likely to reflect some of the looks which are hot and taking place in the women’s arena. Recently, pink is the happening color in men’s wardrobes. Some are even saying that, “real mans are wearing pink shirts, ties and so on”. They are also using pink as a symbol of cancer awareness.

Printed T-shirt
Printed T-shirts are very popular and great way to show off your mood. There is verity of T-shirt available, like you can have music star, favorite comic theme, comic characters, skulls, crossbones and so much too choose from. I personally think that T-shirts are great summer look.

Polo shirts
To get a semi formal look in the summer, polo shirts are great choice. Colors such as bright yellow, purple, pink and much more are available. Try out the luxurious polo shirts which are made out of cotton or silk and cotton blend. Wear a blazer on your polo shirt for more casual and modern look.

Summer suits are excellent choice and these suits are mainly staples in cotton khaki. A proper summer suit will take you from bar to boardroom or desk to dinner.

Enjoy the summer and don’t forget to take the extra care of the body for the summer. Be casual, be cool and have lots of fun in this summer.

Fashion in Tie

April 15th, 2009 admin Fashion Thinking, Tips 0

tieA person’s tie shows his personality, his place in life and his personal intelligence of fashion. It provides you a real shiny and professional look. Thousands of organizations and companies include tie as a must put on in their uniform code.

It is a fine art to match a tie properly by the others dresses. Here is a simple idea for wearing a perfect tie according to an occasion.

Match your suit: When wearing a tie, consider the color of your trousers, jacket etc. It must need to match the tie completely with your shirt or coat and trouser styles.  Patterns and textures of dresses should be suited with your tie.

Colors and patterns: When it comes to selecting the color of the tie, there are lots of methods you can make so. Prefer a tie that is classic and not off-putting. A solid colored traditional tie is a fine idea for all time. If you are putting on a light-color shirt, you can be dressed in a tie in a dark shade of that similar color. If the shirt is light blue, you can decide almost every color of tie as this is the most flexible color for work. Always remember that ties with pictures or cartoons are always looking odd for all occasions.

Length and shape: Usually, the correct width of a tie is something like 3 1/4 inches, and everything in that range is perfect with any suit. The length of standard tie is likely to be from between 52 to 58 inches long, depending on styles.

Consider the event: The colors of solids and brick tone are suitable for the corporate environment. Plain and bold patterns with pin or oblique stripes are also looks great for the corporate meeting or office. Sometime dots look good in tie but it should be avoided when too many are visible in it but slight dots in solid colors shows a class. Usually flowery patterns or fuchsia dyed ties aren’t the ideal fit for a corporate board meeting.

Men’s Blazer

April 2nd, 2009 admin Fashion Thinking 0

Two Button BlazerPreviously we have talked about men’s different types of jackets. Now we’ll discuss about the Blazers. As I mentioned in one my previous article that, we all make the common mistake between Blazers and Jackets and now it will be much clear as we talk about the Blazers.

Looking back in the history, in 1938 blazers was the fashionable odd jacket of choice for style specialists. Originally a part of the English cricket club outlook, the blazer was often striped and in club colors. This look eventually changed to include brass buttons, single and double-breasted models, and a club badge on the breast pocket. Blazers are presented with variety of styles with different detail options, thing like flap or patch pockets and peak or notch lapels. Depending on your choice, taste and what kind of pants you put on; blazers are easy to dress down then sports jackets.

Now let’s move on from history and explore in the different kinds of blazers,

Nautical Blazers
The Nautical blazers are generally navy-colored decorated with brass buttons were predominant throughout the 1920s. They create a stylish sports outfit when paired with white pants. As these types of blazers contain lightweight fabric, the Nautical Blazers were summer fashion sensation.

Now, the big thanks should be given to the British fashion wave by the Americans because South Americans finds the traditional nautical blazer still looks trendy in the late spring or early summer.

Colored Blazers
The Blazers are mainly named because they were “blazed” with more color and bolder patterns than the refined sport jacket. As we see, the Blazers weren’t only striped these days, but they also comes in a variety of bright colors, like powder blue and purple, and started making their way into men’s weekend-wear wardrobes.

Lather Blazers
It’s the latest fashion. The lather jackets are no longer the fashion of eighties as they retuned in the fashion scene, and other than making for a cool style statement they also keep us warm and comfortable during those cold winter nights. So, the lather blazers pretty much took the place right beside the lather jackets. There are different styles of men’s leather blazer for those who have worked in the navy, army and the police force. However, the lather blazers are the most fashionable trend and with a pair of denim or even jeans, the spot light is on you.

Since the blazers are kind of old fashion trend so there are couple of things that you should keep in my mind while you are thinking about wearing a blazer,

  • The first thing is, if you are going to wear a blazer, keep the breast pocket bare; don’t try beautify it with a badge unless you wear your blazer for club purposes.
  • The single-breasted blazers, whether navy or colored without the brass buttons, are modern and versatile as they can be dressed up with flannel trousers or dressed down with denim. And they can also be accessorized with the most formal of ascots or the most basic of ties.
  • In these days and ages, the traditional double-breasted, brass-buttoned nautical blazers are usually worn by older men; I’m talking the grandpa generation here. So, if you are thinking of trying this out, the best suggestion is, DON’T DO IT.

Men’s Jackets

February 11th, 2009 admin Fashion Thinking 0

men's jacketEven I had this problem between the jacket and blazer. The blazer has its roots firmly planted in sport jacket history, delicate style differences make the two wardrobe pieces very distinct from one another. The difference between them is often misunderstood like me and their distinct boundaries are often confused simply because neither a jacket nor a blazer has a matching pair of pants. In spite of this similarity, however, there exist major differences; mainly, a sport jacket is textured and oftentimes patterned, whereas a blazer is a solid color like navy or black, made of smooth fabric and is traditionally seen with naval-style brass buttons.

Ok then, let’s not talk about the confusion and learn the difference as well as the types. This way, we’ll prevent any unbecoming fashion mistakes, like showing up to your formal business meeting in a heavily patterned sport jacket and flannel trousers.

Sports Jackets
The sport jacket draws from from the experimentation with sports clothes in the mid-nineteenth century. In around about early twentieth century, men were seeking comfort and high fashion in their clothing, and turned to the ever-evolving sport jacket as a fashion-forward, casual answer to laidback social functions like an afternoon at a stuffy gentleman’s club or while sitting on the sidelines of a tennis match.

However, today’s sports jacket has very special meaning, because it can also wear with a pair of jeans or chinos for more casual functions.

Patterned Sports Jacket
This particular sports jacket however appeared after the World War II to build up the business casual lifestyle that men began leading. Including bold patterns like Shetland stripes which is seen on Ivy League campuses and madras plaids which is also seen in colleges and country clubs, patterned sport jackets were a way for the fashion-conscious, modern man to avoid having his jacket embarrassingly mistaken for a suit jacket.

Odd jacket
The odd jacket was known mostly as sporting-event and clubhouse attire. It is named after its lack of matching trousers. The odd jacket is also well known for incorporating characteristic detailing like pleats, stitched belts and offbeat pockets into the ever-evolving design. The blazer is often described as a derivative of the odd jacket, although it fits in enough differences to belong in a category all its own.
